Dr. Bruce D. Akright

Dr. Akright joined Northeast OB/GYN Associates in 1991 after seven years in solo practice in northeast San Antonio. Dr. Akright graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1984. He became board certified in 1987 and recertified in 1996. Doctor Akright coordinates the clinical research division of the practice in association with Northeast Clinical Research. He has special interests in minimally invasive surgery with the DaVinci robotic surgical system and in menopausal issues including osteoporosis and Bioidentical Hormone therapy. He resides in San Antonio with his wife Laura Akright, MD.
